“Free tier limit reached (5/5)”

This message means you have used all five of your free file syncs for the current calendar month. On the free tier, each file that moves in either direction counts as one sync — one local post pushed up, or one post pulled down — and the allowance is five per month. When the count reaches five, further syncs pause until either the month rolls over or you upgrade.

The count resets at the start of each calendar month, so on the first you have a fresh five with nothing to do on your end. If you only sync the occasional post, the free tier may be all you ever need.

If you have hit the limit because you are doing real work — a bulk edit or an AI pass across many posts, where a single run easily exceeds five files — that is exactly what Specter Pro is for. It is a one-time $49 purchase that removes the limit entirely, with no subscription. See the free tier versus Pro answer for how syncs are counted, or activating your license to upgrade.
