“Specter can’t be opened”
If macOS shows a warning that Specter cannot be opened, do not worry — the app is notarized by Apple, which means it has been checked and is safe to run. Gatekeeper is simply being cautious the first time, as it can be with any app installed outside the App Store.
The fix is a one-time gesture. Instead of double-clicking, right-click (or Control-click) the Specter app in your Applications folder and choose Open from the menu. macOS will show the warning once more, but now with an Open button. Click it, and Specter launches and is trusted from then on — you can open it normally after that.
This only comes up on the very first launch. If you ever see it again after a major update, the same right-click → Open does the trick. For the full install walkthrough, see installing Specter on macOS.
