System requirements

Specter is a native macOS app, so the requirements are short. You need macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and an Apple Silicon Mac — that is any M-series machine. A universal build that also runs on older Intel Macs is on the roadmap, but for now Specter is Apple Silicon only.

On the Ghost side, you need a Ghost 5.x or newer blog, either self-hosted or on Ghost(Pro) — both work the same way. The only other thing Specter needs from Ghost is an Admin API key, which you create yourself in your blog’s settings. If you have not done that yet, the Ghost Admin API key guide and the custom integration guide walk through exactly where it lives.

That is the whole list: a recent Mac, an Apple Silicon chip, a modern Ghost blog, and its Admin API key. Once those are in place, connecting Specter and running your first sync takes a couple of minutes.
