Spectersync Core

Spectersync Core

Updated June 10, 2026

The signed, supported desktop app. Two-way sync between your CMS and a folder of local markdown, running entirely on your own Mac.

Spectersync Core connects to Shopify, WordPress, Ghost, and Webflow, pulls every post into a folder you choose, and keeps that folder and the live site in step. Edit in any markdown editor, hand the whole folder to Claude Code or Cursor for a bulk pass, or run a script across thousands of posts — Core watches the folder and syncs the changes back, with a dry-run preview and conflict detection before anything ships. Nothing is proxied through our servers.

What you get

  • A signed, notarized macOS app that launches cleanly on current macOS — no Gatekeeper warnings, no manual workarounds
  • Automatic in-app updates: new connectors, new features, and fixes land while you’re subscribed
  • Two-way sync across Shopify, WordPress, Ghost, and Webflow, with dry-run previews and conflict handling
  • Unlimited sites and unlimited syncs — no per-platform or per-site tier
  • Runs on up to 2 Macs on one subscription
  • Priority email support — a direct line to the builder
  • No lock-in: your content stays as plain markdown files on your own disk

Runs on macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.

Core vs DIY

Spectersync DIY is the same engine, free and open source. The difference is everything around the engine:

  • Installers. Core ships a signed, notarized app. DIY is source you build yourself.
  • Updates. Core updates itself in place. DIY you rebuild from the repo when you want a newer version.
  • Support. Core gets priority email support. DIY is community and self-serve.

If you’d rather build and maintain it yourself, Spectersync DIY is free forever — try the full pull/edit/push workflow on your own sites before you decide. If you want it signed, updated, and supported, that’s Core.
